The What is the Union campaign is all about showing students who we are and what we do at the LTSU.
The Union runs a lot of vital services such as the Second Hand Bookshop, the Student Advocacy service, the Student Legal service, tax help, the Food Bank, free lunches and free breakfasts, discounts and a whole lot more.
But the Union does more than just services; we are not solely a service provider. Our aim here is to represent you, to advocate for you, to fight for you. It's our job to ensure that the University operates in the best interests of their major stakeholders, the students. Us.
We've run campaigns against cuts to our education, to empower women in universities, to fight homophobia and racism on campus, better public transport and more support for students in need.
The Office Bearers of the Union sit on Uni boards and committees to make sure our voices are heard.
So, what is the Union?
The Union is you, it's us, it's about our fight and our education.
Get the most out of your time at La Trobe, join a club or collective and get involved. Never feel like you can't get help somewhere here and never think twice about coming to your Union for help or advice.
That's what the Union is.
