Mick Malthouse is one of the most successful coaches in the history of AFL and Vice-Chancellor's Fellow at La Trobe University. He played over 170 senior games with St Kilda and Richmond and won four premiership titles, one as a player with Richmond and three coaching West Coast and Collingwood. He has won numerous playing and coaching awards.
Martin Flanagan is a respected senior sports journalist at The Age and author of twelve books, including The Game at Time of War, Richo, and The Call, an imaginative re-construction of the life of the founder of Australian football, Tom Wills. He has been writing for The Age since 1985 principally on sport, Australian culture and the relationship between black and white Australia.
